Cream Saturation with Twilight 14: Fix You

10. goat cheese
Peter's a stubborn boy from the beginning; he knows what he wants, and though he's kind about it, and quiet, he almost always gets it.
9. brie
For all that stubbornness he's fair, because getting what you want isn't nearly so much fun when other people can't share it with you.
8. Parmesan
He knows how hard it is, having to stitch yourself back together; he's watched his family try.
7. cheddar
And the thing is, Miranda Hennessy comes off all sharp edges and teeth, but there's something softer about her, a flash of kindness beneath the claws.

He was being sued by an ex-volunteer for something he doesn't even remember—it was bullshit, that's all he knows, and from the curl of her lip, Miranda thought so too.

It's a half-step from that memory to another, more heated: Miranda in ribboned heels and a sleek purple dress foaming over her hips, her back smooth under his hands and her mouth curling up at the edges, the first time he saw her really smile.

She's so much more generous than anyone gives her credit for, so much kinder and more fair, and though they talk about her ruthlessness, Peter remembers the sweetness of her mouth.

Seven hours of surgery and a three-day coma and Miranda is finally, finally awake—she's still on oxygen and they won't let her talk, but she turns her face into his hand when he strokes her cheek, her mouth half-smiling, and everything is going to be all right.
