Bittersweet 2, Transparent 10: Souvenir
Author: Kat
Title: Souvenir
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Bittersweet 2 (memories), transparent 10 (Flight)
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, stickers ("The French word for 'memory' is souvenir."), brush (requite), modeling clay (free), feathers ("He had such beautiful eyes."), canvas.
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Summary: Danny gets her first tattoo.
Warnings: teenager death.
Notes: References Blinding.
She's eighteen and one day old when she gets her first tattoo. She's been planning it since she was fifteen.
There was a boy, and yeah, that's a dumb reason to get a tattoo. But this boy glowed. He had so much where she had nothing. He had parents who loved him, wealthy and carefree—to her he was shining, a shooting star, and when he kissed her she thought she could fly.
He died. She drew it at the funeral. A phoenix in flight on her left shoulderblade, light and freedom.
She'll fly for him. For herself.
She'll fly.

So much emotion in so little words.
Wonderful job! ^^

So few words, and yet you completely ensnare the reader. And the emotions come through so well. For a moment, I think I was 18 again, remembering how fiercely I felt *everything* at that age.
