Story: Polyfaceted (Index~Timeline); the title of this story is Home.
Summary: Damien, David's son, and Daniel, David's other son, have a conversation.
Notes: This takes place in February of 2018, shortly after Damien is dropped off at Martina's. David has a lot to explain, really.

“Why’re you here?” Daniel finally asks, shooting the other boy a wary look.
Damien hesitates for a long moment, eventually deciding, “I live here.”
“Nuh-uh, I live here.” A beat. “Where’s your Mommy?”
Tears well up in Damien’s eyes as his lower lip begins to tremble. “Dunno. But I do live here. They said.”
Daniel seems to accept this, nodding. “Wanna watch foo’ball with my Daddy? It’s loud.” Clearly this says everything he feels needs to be said about the sport.
Damien shrugs and wipes at his face. “Kay.”
Grabbing his hand, Daniel drags him into the next room.

Yvette basically just con't afford or emotionally handle caring for Damien any more, so her only real option was to leave him with his father. I swear, it probably destroyed her.
