let me say: I’m a little fantastic
and little sarcastic
they’d say I’m insane
but I was forged in pain

and I can’t play pretty melodies
I can’t pray for a god I don’t believe
no saviour to accompany me
to tell me who I’m meant to be

but I like it when my fears multiply
I think my tears could purify
all the burdens I still carry
all the demons I vowed to bury

and to mollify me
can something reply to me?
but the sky is empty
but my heart is empty

in words I lay my truth
one I’ve denies in my youth
burn to defy
raised to rectify

this fate forced upon me
of who I can’t be
a furious static in my brain
how I am supposed to be the same?

Dang, that last stanza hits hard. I also really like the slant rhymes in this. I think they're clever.
