Shen Shanwei covered his daughter's ears. "Language," he chided his wife. "I told you, I will make it. You're not well yet."
Yuwen Duyi settled unhappily back on her back. He didn't need to hear to know she'd been cursing. "Your mama swears like a bargeman," he told told A-Yuan seriously. "I think you'd better go calm her down."
The baby looked up at him with an equally serious frown, and swatted at his face. He caught her fingertips in a kiss. Such pale eyes. He never thought he could love pale eyes.
Quietly, just in his heart, he made her a promise.
Duyi was making increasingly impatient grabby motions, so he passed A-Yuan over to her, and went to make tea.
