Fish Blue 7, Sphene 11: The First
Author: Kat
Title: The First
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Fish blue 7 (Pygmy goby), sphene 11 (Fire/Dispersion)
Supplies and Materials: Pointillism, miniature collection, seed beads, graffiti (Lilith Fair Main Stage: Perfect Girl, Sarah McLachlan)
Word Count: 171
Rating: PG
Summary: The first to say it.
Warnings: none.
Notes: Shannon gets more fun the more I write her.
Ivy was the first to think it: Shannon might expect perfection, but she wouldn't get it.
They broke up when Shannon was too afraid to go to prom.
Carie was the first to say it: "Shan, do you ever think you might be too perfectionistic?"
Carie left after Shannon wouldn't move in with her.
Deborah was the first to demand it: "You can't make me be what you want me to be!"
That conversation--okay, fight--was the end of that relationship.
Serena was the first to ask her: "Why are you so afraid of disappointment?"
They parted friends, after a few months, when their love eased to a stop.
Lora was the first to suggest it: "I think maybe you should talk to somebody, Shannon."
Therapy helped with the overthinking, but she and Lora broke up anyway.
Shannon was the last to say it, to a pretty girl with dimples: "I expect too much, but I swear, I swear I'm working on it."
She and Maggie are still going strong.
