It was a lesson they all have to learn. A lesson she has learned the hard way. A lesson she is once again learning today. It’s unbelievable that she forgot.
Life is not fair.
"Oh, come on. Keep your head up girl. Don't let it get you down. It's not the end of the world."
Her eyes flash. Only for a second. Unnoticed by the others around her.
Who are they to judge her? Who are they to say what she should do or feel? Who the hell gives them the right to tell her what is right and wrong…
-
She storms out of the room. Still angry. Still… Sad. There are tears in her eyes. And she tries, tries so hard not to let them spill. But she can’t hold them back. She never could.
Life is not fair.
Oh, it definitely isn’t. It has never been. She wonders what made her think that it had chanced…
Looking aside she sees the rain clash against the window. Sees how lightning flashes through the sky. Hears how the thunder rolls through the streets.
A sad smile on her lips. She has to face this weather, alone and with her bike…
-
Drenched. Completely and utterly soaked. Her clothes sticking to her body. But the rain was good for one thing. The rain and the cycling. Fighting against the wind that was head on. It cleared her mind. it helped her think. It helped her…
Starting tomorrow she will handle things differently. They will not get her down like that again. She will not let them. Never again.
Life is not fair.
And perhaps it never will be. But she will try to make it fair. For her. For the ones she loves. She will fight to try and make it fair.
