"You want him in the squads."

Diana took the call in the police chief's office. The place was still trashed from the bastard resisting evacuation, but her boss said "whatever means necessary", and she knew Diana took her at her word. There were reasons Diana didn't get normal assignments.

"The instructions were clear: use all resources not immediately hostile to close the Shatter." This one had gotten progressively less normal.

"We mentioned the magic fucking sword?" Diana said calmly.

"If he is a cause, it will become apparent. If not... we'll see."

She sighed. "Yes, ma'am. I hope this doesn't get anybody I like killed."
