Skyblue Pink with Striped Polka Dots #11, Bistre #7, Chalk White #3
Name: shadowsong26
Story: you, who never
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Skyblue Pink with Striped Polka Dots #11. "Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So. . . get on your way." (The lies we don’t tell ourselves), Bistre #7. I have discovered that a beautiful face and a facile wit can conceal great strength of character., Chalk White #3. "But All Those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas/All Ran Away And Hid/From One Little Did."
Supplies and Materials: graffiti (Martin Luther King Jr Day Challenge), paint-by-numbers (from Kana), eraser (Mellir AU), brush (zany (noun)), stain, charcoal, glitter (surprise)
Word Count: 192
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Kellom
Warnings: References to war/violence and defection
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. This takes place immediately after section 2 of The Other Side. There is def. something sketchy about doing a Kellom POV piece for this challenge but this was what came when I looked at the page of quotes. <.<
i don't understand it.
you, who never--who never stood for anything, who never...
i just don't understand.
they found you, bleeding--
you, who never cared enough to make any sort of sacrifice--
you were bleeding, and andrell gone.
we woke to find him gone, and
you, who never thought of anything but your own pleasure,
a fallen sentry, in the dust.
help me grasp it, little brother--
you, who never did a thing but watch, and laugh, and waste your days
and he...you know,
i always thought he was the best of us.
you, who never gave a damn, and i--well, i...
i was wrong. how could i be so wrong?
you spilled your blood for us.
you, who never spilled any other's, never fought for anything worth fighting for...
you could have died for us.
and even if you failed, and he escaped,
you, who never paid a scrap of mind--
you tried, and suddenly i realize, that
you, who never showed a spark of courage,
you, who never showed a trace of promise,
you, who never showed a hint of worth,
restored my faith in all of us today.

Yeah. Things are not going well for Kellom, politically, at this point, and to have Mellir take a stand to attempt to keep Andrell from defecting gives him a major morale boost.
