Skyblue Pink with Striped Polka Dots #1, Fake Blood Red #10, Bistre #16
Name: shadowsong26
Story: Cruel
'Verse: Lux
Colors: Skyblue Pink with Striped Polka Dots #1. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” (It’s important to have a dream: otherwise you might notice where you really are), Fake Blood Red #10. What part of "shut up" don't you understand?, Bistre #16. Is it worth destroying a thing to save it?
Supplies and Materials: paint-by-numbers, canvas (2179), acrylic, stain, feathers, charcoal, pastels (my current gen + romance card I3 "traffic"), novelty beads, glitter, glue ("You may be so distracted by the wide world of possibilities that you could benefit by withdrawing from the outer noise and refocusing on what's right in front of you.")
Word Count: 305
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Michaela, Gabriel, Simon (here David Greenberg)
Warnings: Planned memory-erasure and kidnapping
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
A simple glamour let Michaela ride on the top of his car unnoticed. It of course provided no cover from the others, but it was the humans who should remain in the dark.
"Can't you leave him here?" Gabriel asked from the top of the trunk.
"No," Michaela answered, with a faint tinge of regret.
"He's happy."
"This is known."
"You know how rare that is."
"Yes."
"Then why can't we just give him this?" Gabriel asked, joining Michaela on the roof.
The car rolled to a stop at a red light. "You know why."
"Whatever you think you need him for, it can wait a few years."
Michaela's head shook. "It's waited long enough, brother."
Gabriel ran a hand through his hair, a too-obvious sign of frustration. "Then why even place him where he'd find her, if you were just going to take him away?"
"Because," the soft reply came, "his happiness is all too rare. And he has suffered so much."
"It'll hurt worse this time," Gabriel pointed out.
There was a long moment of silence. "This is known," Michaela finally said.
"You know his wife is pregnant?" Gabriel tried.
"There can be no further delays. As soon as he is somewhere private, he will be remade."
The car started moving again, turning down a side street, and the siblings were silent until it parked at David Greenberg's house. "This is..." Gabriel sighed. "This is cruel. You do realize that?"
"He will always find her in his memories," Michalea answered, then stood up.
Next to Michaela, Gabriel vanished, off to some other part of the world with speeds only they could reach. Michaela sighed, then filed his objections away for later consideration. For now, there was work to be done, for all of them.
Michaela, eyes closed, stripped the glamour away.
"Hello, David."

He really, really should have, yeah. ::sigh:: But Michaela is his older sibling and he's more likely to fall in line than anything else, at least for now.

Thank you for posting!

Michaela is super-distanced, and utterly fails at humaning, yeah. Michaela is also possibly the most dangerous person in this story, at least until Rubika comes into her own (which I need to work out how the hell she's gonna do that, so...yeah)

Ooh, now you have me all excited for Rubika.

Well, this is an apocalypse narrative (even though it was originally supposed to be just about Lux and Mariko's romantic entanglement). Rubika is one of a particularly significant foursome...
