Her grandfather was a sailor. Perhaps that's why she loves the sea so much. When he passed away, there were times that the only place she wanted to be, was on the rooftop. Watching the stars.
When her grandmother gave her the sextant a couple of weeks later, she didn't know what to say. Instead she hugged her and cried on her shoulder. Her grandmother knew anyway.
So now, when there is a clear sky and lots of stars, she still goes to the rooftop. Most of the times alone. Measuring the distant between a star and the horizon.
