Dirt Brown #24 with seed beads
Name: Blossom
Story: Pleasant Surprise
Colors: Dirt Brown 24. (wisdom)
Supplies and Styles: canvas (they're around 16-17 here), seed beads,
Title: Always there for me
Word Count: 303
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Ed remembers an important piece of advice.
Warnings: teenage angst and the angst that comes with falling for your best friend
Notes: I'm loving these two so much! Enjoy!
Ed swallowed the lump in his throat as his finger hovered over the call button. Sam’s picture stared at him when he looked down at the number. It wasn’t hard, all he had to do was the press the button and talk to him, but he couldn’t do it. He groaned and placed the phone back on his desk. The wave of confidence he got after he returned from the store with his grandma disappeared as fast as it arrived.
I don’t want to spend another year crushing on him, but I don’t want to mess things up either. Emma is going to kill me. Ed sighed and placed his head on the desk. He stared at the mess on his desk when the corner of a picture frame caught his eye. He reached in the pile of papers and pulled it out. He grinned at the picture of him and his grandpa taken at the beach last summer. If his grandpa were here, he wouldn’t leave until he called Sam. Ed closed his eyes as his grandpa’s words replayed in his mind.
“Remember Ed, life is unpredictable. One moment you’re here, the next you could be gone, so don’t spend the time you’re here worrying. If you find someone that can be with you and the bags that you’re going to carry with you, then don’t lose them. Don’t waste time thinking about what could have been.”
Ed opened his eyes and grabbed his phone. He hit the call button and waited for Sam to pick up on the other end.
“Hey Sam, um, I have something to tell you. Yeah it’s important, so let’s meet in the garden instead of the creek this weekend. Okay, see you.” He smiled as he closed the phone.
His grandpa always knew what to say.
