you
make me
itch to paint
my hands closing,
empty and useless.
you in all your colors
stretched out on the forest floor—
your first time in a forest, and
you are fascinated, hypnotized
by sprouting mushrooms, flitting butterflies;
I am fascinated, hypnotized
by you, intent on a leaf's edge,
your fingertip tracing it
slowly. I could trace you
on paper, keep you
that way; I'd give
anything
to paint
you.

Mildly afraid I will fall and never again leave the magical forest given that I attempt both.

Thank you! And it's okay. The magical forest goes with you.
