Laughing she turns down the window. Letting the wind enter her car and play with her hair. It has been a while since she last wore her hair down. She takes a deep breath, breathing in the fresh air - well, fresh... As fresh as it can be while you're driving - and it makes her smile broadly.

She's on her way home. Tomorrow she'll finally be home again. She can't wait to see him. Can't wait to wrap her arms around him and to feel him against her body and... She missed his hugs so badly. And his kisses. She missed him. Three months. It's too long to be separated.

Smiling she speeds up, not wanting to let the car next to her get passed her. Every car that passes is one who is home earlier than she will be.

Once again she laughs, she's being silly... It almost feels as if she is racing against everyone on the road. The road to home...

It's only when the night falls that she starts looking out for a place to sleep. Luckily there are motels enough along the road.

-

She wakes up screaming. Tears rolling down her face. Her hands trembling. Her entire body shivering. And she's feeling cold. So very cold. And lonely. And scared. So very scared.

Looking aside she sees the first rays of sunlight fall through the curtains. It is all she needs to get out of her bed, to wash up and eat something and to get into her car again. She needs to be home. And she needs to be home now. She can't shake off the feeling that she should have been home yesterday.

It's not as if she can remember the dream. At least, she presumes it was a dream. She can't explain this feeling. But it is one that urges her home. A feeling she is not going to ignore. No matter how silly or stupid or superstitious it may sound.

She needs to be home...
