"Nelly..."
She looks at him, lovingly, lets her hand run patterns over his chest and belly. It has been ages since he laid beside her in her bed. Ages since she could kiss him and hold him and... She's not planning on letting him go anytime soon. She's not leaving his side.
"What happened?"
Surprised she looks at him. Wondering if she heard the question correctly.
"I mean. I remember the Rebellion, the beginning of what seems to have led to a Revolution. I remember the fight. But... What happened after we got captured?"
Wide open eyes look at her lover.
"You mean you don't remember?"
If she wasn't so shocked and if the memories didn't hurt that much, she'd have laughed at the irony...
"You don't remember the ambush? That we were betrayed? That the King tortured you, us? That he..."
She swallows, closes her eyes and bites back the tears.
"You don't remember how he said he was going to erase you?"
A short shake of his head, a pained look on his face. Carefully Nelly pushes herself up on her elbows. Letting one hand caress his face and letting her fingers run through his hair.
"You don't remember the dreams where we met? Or how you came back? You do remember coming back and us fighting and winning and...?"
He closes his eyes and she recognises the look on his face. After all, she has gone through that same 'wanting to remember but not being able to grasp the memory' so many times.
And now that he is back, now she remembers everything. All the memories that were once stolen. All back to her.
And everything he knew while she could not... He now in turn has lost...
"I'll tell you..."
There is nowhere they have to go anyway.
