“Martine, you aren’t watching!”

There was a gentle laugh as Jean Luc was let into the room by the two guards. Music and feminine chatter greeted him.

Alexandrine turned away from her sister as she danced around the room.

“Are you watching, Martine?”

“I am Drina.”

Alexandrine turned. A huge smile spread across her face when she saw Jean Luc.

“Luca!”

Jean Luc laughed. “Hello Drina.”

Alexandrine flounced over to him. She placed a kiss on both of his cheeks before batting her lashes at him.

“Did you bring me a present?”

“Drina!”

Jean Luc laughed. “Not this time, but Tophe implored me to send you his fair wishes.”

Alexandrine grinned. “Tophe is such a lovely little boy. I’ll see how he ages.”

Jean Luc raised his eyebrows. “Are you trying to make a conquest of my son?”

Alexandrine smiled and turned away. “I’m just thinking of the future.”

Jean Luc guffawed.

“What brings you here cousin?” Martine asked.

“I’ve come to see my wife.”

“Charlotte is out at the moment,” Martine said. “I sent her out with Bathilide.”

“Ah I see,” Jean Luc said rubbing his chin. “Will you tell her I called?”

“I’ll tell her Luca!” Alexandrine said bouncing on the plush light blue couch.

“Thank you Drina.”

“You’re welcome!”

Jean Luc let himself out of the room. He smiled as the music started up again.

You definitely captured the feeling of movement. This has a lively pace, besides Alexandrine's bounciness.

Awww, how bouncy and happy. Too bad it's going to end poorly.
