“Sam.”
Samantha turned over in her sleep. She sighed in her sleep.
“Sam, wake up.”
Bonnie shook her friend’s shoulder. Sam yawned and turned away from her.
“Sam, you have an exam at 1. It’s 12:50.”
Samantha’s eyes flew open. She popped up from the bed.
“What?” She said reaching for her alarm.
“Your sociology exam is at 1. I thought you’d be gone by now.”
Samantha bounded out of bed. She’d only meant to take a little nap before class. When she lay down, it had been 10 am. How had she slept for three hours?
“I gotta go,” Samantha said looking around for her notes.
Bonnie watched her friend pull out the drawers of her desk. She knew Sam would regret that later. Sam was the neatest person she knew.
“I can’t find them!” Sam yelled frustrated.
“Check your bedside drawer,” Bonnie suggested.
“They wouldn’t be in there.”
“Check,” Bonnie insisted.
Samantha sighed and went to her bedside. She pulled out the drawer. Her notebook was there.
Samantha sighed in relief.
“How did you know that?”
Bonnie smiled. “You always put them there before you go to bed.”
Samantha grabbed her laptop and stuffed into its bag. She put the notebook in after it.
“See you later,” Samantha said rushing past Bonnie.
“Bye!” Bonnie said moving out of the way so Samantha wouldn’t knock her over. “I hope you ace it!”
Samantha slammed the door behind her.
Bonnie went over to her own bed and plopped down. She wondered if her soaps were on.
