Xanadu 8, Cotton Candy 5: Prelapsarian
Author: Kat
Title: Prelapsarian
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Xanadu 8 (Eden), cotton candy 5 (Trampoline) with blossom's paint-by-numbers (Hugh thinking about Olivia as he bounces place to place in his search)
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, canvas, acrylic (exempt), pastels (wandering), photography.
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Summary: Hugh thinks about his daughter and children in general.
Warnings: none
Notes: yeah okay, just one more. With SYMBOLISM. Also, if you know what the title means without looking it up, then we should be friends. ENGLISH MAJORS UNITE.
Children shriek outside, and Hugh glances out the window of his motel in time to see one rise above a housing development's fence, arms flailing, hair floating, before falling back to the trampoline that must be just below, out of sight.
Such happiness. He misses the days when it was part of his life, rational as breathing and constant as thought.
He knows Olivia will be changed, when he finds her. It has been more than a year, after all. Still, he hopes she has kept that capacity for innocence, that unknowing joy.
He sighs, and returns to his packing.
