“Wakey wakey,” Maggie said, knocking on the lid of the coffin.
It opened immediately and Hugh sat up, bright-eyed and smiling. “Are we there?”
“No.” She yawned resentfully. “I need a break. You drive until we hit another stream and I’ll nap.” She glared in sleepy annoyance as he leapt out of the coffin. “How are you not stiff after sleeping in a box in the back of a truck for six hours?”
He stretched from side to side, obviously enjoying the fact that he didn’t really need to. “I’m way past rigor mortis. Keys? Right, off we go.”

This is all kinds of adorable. Especially the last line there- "I’m way past rigor mortis. Keys? Right, off we go." Hee! At least he has a sense of humor about it?
