Metallic Gold 3, Lust 25: Remembering
Author: Kat
Title: Remembering
Story: In The Heart
Colors: Metallic gold 3 (lesson), lust 25 (quickie).
Supplies and Materials: Canvas, acrylic (staring), modeling clay (anniversary), chalk (miss you bro warning for suicide triggers), yarn (belt of Venus), pastels (silence), miniature, seed beads (Rose Marie).
Word Count: 100.
Rating: G.
Summary: She goes every year, on the anniversary.
Warnings: mentions death in a car crash.
Notes: Related to let go.
She goes once a year, on the day he died. She gets up at sunrise, leaves Nathan sleeping in his bed, and drives to the splintered tree trunk by the edge of the road. She doesn't speak, and she doesn't stay long.
Her heels sink in the mud as she walks to the dead tree and lays down the bouquet. She stares for a moment at the crushed-in dent that killed the tree and her husband, then looks up, feels the breeze on her face.
A faint rainbow of color touches the horizon.
Wherever he is, she knows Daniel's happy.
