Notes: Teresa is the younger sister of Fernando by some twelve years and she was his last unmarried siblings and most likely his favorite as well. Andre is Elisabeth's uncle through her father. Andre and Teresa fell and love and subsequently married without Henri's permission but with Fernando's. Andre hasn't returned to Monde yet where he has three older children by deceased first wife, Lady Matilide Grimloult.
“Congratulations,” Elisabeth said stroking the soft hair of the new addition to the Abadesso-DuBois family.
Little Camilla yawned and turned towards her mother, Princess Teresa.
“Congratulations Uncle,” Elisabeth said straightening up and addressing her paternal uncle, Prince Andre of Duelise.
Andre grinned.
“I suppose I shouldn't point out that it's only been seven months since the two of you wed,” Fernando said putting his arm around his wife.
Andre coughed and blushed.
“Oh brother, do not tease.”
“Alas dear sister, it's what I do best,” Fernando smiled. He bent down and kissed his sister's forehead and touched his niece's nose before turning to Elisabeth.
“Let's leave the little family alone,” Fernando said holding out his arm to Elisabeth. She took and allowed him to stear her out.
They were quiet as they walked back to their own apartments.
“What are you thinking about?” Fernando asked.
Elisabeth was quiet for a moment but then spoke.
“I should be with child by now,” Elisabeth said softly.
“We've only been married for ten months, Elisa.”
“Your point being? We haven't concieved yet though it isn't for lack of trying.”
Fernando chuckled. “I should think so.”
Elisabeth sighed. “I wonder if it has something to do with me.”
Fernando frowned. “Why would you think that?”
“You've fathered children. You've proved yourself. Now it's my turn and I'm failing miserably.”
Fernando opened the door to their shared bedroom.
“You are being way too hard on yourself, Elisa.”
“I hear them whispering about me,” Elisabeth said tightly.
Fernando sighed.
“You are being paranoid,” Fernando said gently taking her hands in his. “Everything will fall into place. Trust me.”
Elisabeth titled her head back. “Why should I trust you?”
Fernando grinned. “Because I am the King. But better yet I am your husband and husbands are always right.”
Elisabeth smiled. “Only when they listen to their wives.”
Fernando chuckled. “Yes exactly.”
