Story: In the Heart -- Regency AU
Colors: Tea rose 22 (My idea of good company is the company of clever, well-informed people who have a great deal of conversation.)
Supplies and Materials: Tapestry (Tea rose/eraser), eraser (Regency AU), miniature, brush (fetter).
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG-13.
Summary: Joy is not a prostitute.
Warnings: mentions of prostitution, sexist/sexual slurs.
Notes: This went to a sad place I did not intend. Documentary on prostitutes will do that, I guess.
Joy is not a whore.
She's free with her favors, of course, but she grants them to people she likes, people whose company she enjoys. Clever people, who read books and papers, people who understand that she is intelligent. People who speak to her as if she is a person, a woman, not just a cunny for them to use.
Because she isn't. She is an artist's model, sometimes, and a barmaid, and when she can she dances (with or without her clothes), but she is not a whore.
She feels sorry for the whores.
She, at least, can choose.
