Tea Rose 4: A Pretty Little Picture
Name: Destiny
Story: The Mondian Chronicles (Archive/Index)
Title: A Pretty Little Picture
Timeline: 1082 AW
Colors: Tea Rose 4: An artist cannot do anything slovenly.
Supplies and Styles: None
Word Count: 254
Summary: Pretty much fluff between the Everart sisters of Generation A
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Giselle is older than Christelle by about two years? She's fourteen in this and Christelle is about 12. Giselle in the future will become the mother of Martine Bauldry, one of Henri's queens.
“I’m getting tired, Chrissie,” Giselle said trying to find a more comfortable position.
Christelle looked up from her canvas. Her sister was a very impatient subject to paint. She should have asked Daniele.
“I’ll be finished in about twenty minutes,” Christelle said returning to the canvas.
“Twenty minutes! I have somewhere to be.”
Christelle snorted. “You don’t have anywhere to be.”
“You’re just a kid, Chrissie. You wouldn’t know how the life of a young woman is.”
Christelle shot her sister a look.
“Don’t give me that look. I’m supposed to meet Lucas.”
“Lucas?” Christelle said stepping back. She should have used a dark color for Giselle’s hair.
“Yes, he’s one of father’s wards. I’m sure you’ve noticed him.”
“Actually I haven’t,” Christelle said dipping her brush into the paint. One more stroke and she’d have it.
“Ugh Chrissie, you are so…dour. Father will never be able to find a husband for you.”
“Suppose I don’t want to get married,” Christelle said. She looked at the painting. She had made her sister look like a complete angel, quite the opposite of how she was in real life.
“Every girl wants to get married,” Giselle said fondly.
“If you say so, I’m finished.”
Giselle jumped and came to look at the painting.
“Father will like it,” Giselle said.
Christelle nodded. “He’ll definitely like it.”
“I’m off, Chrissie.”
Giselle left her sister behind. Christelle would deliver the painting to her father. He’d always encouraged her painting habit, now if only she could work on her mother.
