French Grey 7, Iceberg 2, Cloud White 8: Indoctrination
Name: Peter
Story: JT's Mixed Bag
Colors: French Grey #7 (Some people’s affability is more deadly than the violence of coarser souls), Iceberg #2 (ice), Cloud White #8 (albedo)
Supplies and Styles: Charcoal
Word Count: 142
Rating: G
Warnings: Nasty people
Notes: "Write what you know," they say. It's 3am, and I took a fancy to write one thing I know. ;P No disrespect is intended toward homeschooling as a style of education. All the disrespect in the world is intended toward people whose actions are motivated entirely by fear and self-importance.
"How are her kids doing?"
"Not good. They've been indoctrinated, of course."
"Oh, dear. Values clarification training?"
"No. Self-esteem." The speaker might have been referring to a cross between shit and measles.
"Oh no. You think she's going to make it?"
"Probably not, with three of them at the same time. I told her it was a bad idea, putting them in school. You never know what they'll bring home."
"I feel sorry for her, though. Three kids at once. She must be having a horrible time. Do you think there's anything we could do to help?"
"I doubt it. You can't do much with kids once they get that stuff into their heads -- she's probably just going to have to put them back in school next year."
"What a shame. They were such smart kids, too."
"Well, it's her own fault."
