Angel Cake 8 - Oils

Name: Kana
Title: Breakdown
Story: Circle never ends
Characters: Freya, Nick
Colors: Angel Cake 8. Faithful
Supplies and Styles: Oils (without you, I was lost)
Word count: 242

Summary: She didn’t deserve sensei’s scolding.
Notes: Constructive criticism is, as always, welcome

She didn’t mind getting reprimanded if she did something wrong.

But she hadn’t. Not this time. Not really... She hadn’t deserved sensei's scolding. Not that harsh at least.

Sighing she turns back around. Ignoring Nick’s surprised question of where she’s going.

There is no one in the dojo anymore. It almost makes her smile. And without hesitation, without a second thought, she starts hitting the punching bag. Harder and faster and harder still. Until the tears are rolling freely over her cheeks and her breathing gets ragged.

Eventually she sets herself down, her legs feeling like jelly, unable to support her any longer. The bag still swinging.

Her sobs are becoming desperate and it seems as if she can’t breathe anymore.

“Calm down Freya. Calm down, please. Breathe. Please, just try to breathe calmly.”

Nick sets himself behind her, his arms around her shoulders, letting her back rest against his chest, his head next to hers.

He brings one hand up, caressing her hair, holding her head next to his own. Whispering soft soothing nothings. Knowing there is more than the reprimand that is upsetting her like this. Knowing she is not going to talk about it, not even if he asks. And he respects that. He just wants her to know he’ll be there for her, that he’ll listen if ever she wants to talk. But for now, he just holds her, keeps her close and safe, and lets her cry.

Aww, such a good thing Nick is there. And poor Freya-- she takes harsh criticism really hard, huh?
