The Krype was near dry that night. One human man sat near the window, staring past the holoverts; a synth couple held down a booth near the back, orange and aqua fingers intertwined.

Tothos leaned back against the bar and glanced at Katherine, wearing some ruffled top that dipped too low and bottom that was slit too high. She uncrossed and recrossed her legs, thighs sliding together. Tothos saw her fingers brushing across skin, cresting curves and dipping inside--

Katherine chuckled and Tothos snapped her gaze to the other woman's face. Katherine shook her empty glass, ice cubes clinking. "Buy me a drink, hero?"

Tothos quirked her mouth. "You forget I'm the bartender tonight?"

Katherine laughed into her curled fingers. "Then make me a good one."
