"Tell me again why I had to join you?"
Freya shoots him a glare and he smiles innocently.
"You didn't have to. I asked. And you said it was okay. You can always leave if you want..."
Of course Nick hears the silent plea despite her words. Chuckling he places a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm just teasing you. Relax. I'm not going."
Smiling Freya turns her attention back to the mewling creatures in front of them. Cooing over them. Petting each on gently and stroking the soft furs.
Most of the kittens are curling around her legs for attention. They nearly make her lose her balance.
"Why are you all so cute?"
She laughs when one of the little cats climbs up her leg. Carefully she picks it up. Scratching behind his ears. "Why you cute little devil."
Freya turns to look at Nick. Desperate.
"They are all so cute and sweet... I don't know which one to choose..."
It makes her friend laugh. And she lets her head rest against his shoulder when he swings an arm around her.
"You wanted a cat. I told you a goldfish would have been much easier."
