"Hey Freya."
She smiles - tries to at least - when she faces Rob.
No one notices anything special at her, except for Nick. Of course Nick. He knows her too well.
"Are you alright?"
They both ignore the look of surprise on Rob's face and she nods reassuringly. Knows he doesn't completely believe her though.
She shivers when she remembers the dream. It felt so real. So real...
-
She brushes a lock of hair out of her face. Annoyed.
Carefully she looks around when she reaches her destination. Making sure no one followed her. Making sure no one sees her entering.
The room falls silent when she walks inside. Wary looks and she knows some have drawn their weapons.
"It is me."
Her voice full of confidence, despite feeling nervous and even scared. She's risking everything...
-
"Nick?"
He turns his head when they are walking towards her home after training. Giving her his attention. It makes her doubt her words. Freya tries to hide the internal turmoil from showing on her face. Isn't sure she succeeds.
She can't tell him. Not yet. Not here. Not like this.
So instead she settles for a saver option. "Want to stay for dinner?"
Her home is a safer place to talk about these dreams as well.
-
"It's not for us. You know it is not for us. It is for everybody. This needs to be done to assure the safety and happiness of everybody."
She looks around. Trying to memorise their faces. There are no names. It's safer for everyone not to mention names.
The speaker turns around. Eyes locking with hers.
"We need you at our side. We cannot do this alone."
Swallowing she sees the hopeful gazes fixed on her. Who is she to refuse?
-
Freya doesn't dare look at him in the silence that falls after her story.
"What do you think?"
She feels Nick shift on the couch. Away from her? Getting up and ready to leave?
The hand on her shoulder startles her for a second. Still doesn't make her look up though.
"I don't know. I usually don't believe in dreams. Or reliving the past."
Freya almost feels hurt, until she hears the silent 'but'.
"Perhaps we will find out when we actually arrive in Japan within a couple of weeks..."
Gentle fingers lift her chin. His smile reassures her.
-
She tosses and turns -kicking the blankets away – sweating - the look on her face is one of pain and fear.
"You will pay for what you did." - the sword shining in the moonlight.
A soft groan escapes her lips while she turns her head away.
She struggles to get free - knows it is useless, but she has to try. She just has to try...
Her breathing is ragged and uncontrolled.
Screaming she closes her eyes when the sword comes down.
Screaming Freya opens her eyes - only to discover she's in her own bedroom.

Ah, the explanation... Perhaps she'll find it in Japan indeed. Perhaps... ^^
