There is pity in Nelly’s eyes when she sees Samuel passing by. Limping. Dragging his left foot behind him, taking the leaves that are on the road with him. Everybody knows he’s gone crazy.

He looks aside when he feels her gaze. For a second there is an intense light in his eyes. “Your heart seems to be broken in two.”

Nelly wonders what he means, but before she can react, he giggles. His eyes getting that crazy glance again.

“Don’t worry. The King made it happen to my brother. Now I got two half-brothers.”

She shivers at the thought.

....I dunno, he sounds like he knows exactly what's going on.

Actually, I did have one more note-- this is kind of a harmful stereotype, the wise/foolish crazy person. It implies that the person in question is only useful when not crazy, and that being crazy in and of itself makes you useless. It's not a huge big deal, it just bothers me as a mentally ill person, and I thought you might want to know.

Oh, no, not at all! I never thought you meant any offense, or that you even knew any of this. I just wanted to let you know for the future. Thank you for the offer, though, and the apology. It means a lot to me. *hugs*
