“Caithlynn…”
She looks aside when she hears Frey’s questioning voice.
“What day is it?”
There is a pondering look on her face. Time goes quite differently when fighting and travelling. In the end, it is Alan who answers.
“It’s Monday. The first of Autumn.”
They both notice the strange look on his face. It resembles longing. And sorrow.
Alan looks at them. His eyes locking a little longer with Frey’s.
“The first day of school for my sister.”
Caithlynn is at loss for words. She didn’t know he had a sister.
“She’s eight. And I am not there for her…”
