Caithlynn looks at her arm. The wound stopped bleeding a while ago. The fire casting a warmth she needs after the battle.

“Are you alright?”

Surprised she looks aside when she hears Frey’s worried voice. Not having heard him step up to her.

“Sure. It’s but a scratch.”

She smiles reassuringly. Places a hand on his head. He can see it in her eyes. She’s been through much worse.

“Will we survive? Will we win?”

His voice trembles. Fragile. Still so young. Caithlynn places her hands on his shoulders.

“I don’t know.”

He needs the truth more than false comfort…
