Celine went to the laundry room with Martine following close behind her.

“Did you hear what I said?” Martine asked prodding her sister’s back.

Celine straightened and sighed. Martine wasn’t going to leave her alone unless she answered her.

“No could you please repeat yourself?”

Martine smiled and bounced.

“I said I want my husband to a dashing solider. It’ll be perfect, he’ll be returning from the War and I’ll see him from our cottage on the hill. I’ll run out of our home and call out to him ‘Darling. Is it really you?’ and he’ll run to me and we’ll embrace and share passionate kisses and-“

“Martine have you been reading those silly love stories again?” Celine asked.

Martine smiled and nodded. “I know father forbid me to, but Brigitte let me have some of hers!”

“You’re going to get Brigitte in trouble with Papa,” Celine said folding a towel.

“No more trouble than you’re going to get in for helping the cleaning staff,” Martine sang.

Celine stiffened. She turned back to her sister.

“Martine you wouldn’t dare tell,” Celine whispered.

Martine smiled brightly. “I won’t as long as you don’t tell on me for reading the love stories.”

Celine nodded. Martine ran forward and pecked her sister on the cheek.

“I’ll see you later, Celine. I’m going to see Brigitte,” Martine said skipping out of the laundry room.

Celine turned back to her folding. Little sisters were such a pain.

Aw, Celine. They're so realistic as sisters, holding things over each other's head!
