Heart Gold #25, Sapphire #11, Steel Guitar Grey #13
Name: shadowsong26
Story: as i lay dying
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Heart Gold #25. You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly. - Sam Keen, Sapphire #11. lapis lazuli, Steel Guitar Grey #13. Shot through the heart as I lay there alone
Supplies and Materials: eraser (Incest AU), stain ("Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." -- Buddha), modeling clay, glitter, glue ("Be careful because you may be easily misled today by someone you trust. ")
Word Count: 168
Rating: R
Characters: Fera
Warnings: Character death
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. This is a Bref double, a French sonnet form. With an extra-short extra line at the end because it needed to be there and didn't fit. This takes place in an alternate 980 FY.
as i lay dying, here in our bedroom, as i fade away,
the shouting around me echoes down to whispers,
all our guards whisper-shouting 'what do we do'
and 'she's not breathing' and 'oh gods no' and simply 'no'.
as i lay dying, staring up--the only way i can--pieces of the ceiling,
fragments of broken lapis tiles, broken in that boy's rage,
disrupt the mosaic, made when we got married--for me, so you told me.
they're falling on my head, the fragments, the tiles, sounding soft,
not broken at all. it doesn't hurt, though it should--they
feel like breaths of air, not sharp at all. i wonder, darling,
did this happen because of you? did you send him here? you may,
i think, have decided to force your father's hand. you
are so devoted (but to your cause, not to me). as i fade away,
i believe that it was you, you killed me, from a distance. but i love you.
i forgive you.

((Have fun with it. ^^ It's actually harder than I thought it would be, given the unrhyming lines.))
