Faded Blue 13, Liver 4: Epiphany

Author: Kat
Title: Epiphany
Story: In the Heart - IN SPAAAACE
Colors: Faded blue 13 (Stars and steel guitars and luscious lips, as red as wine), liver 4 (mouth)
Supplies and Materials: Eraser, acrylic (regard), miniature, oils (crossing the void), modeling clay (sky), yarn (this picture), glue (Take the developments in your life slowly, for they are important ones and you really need to respond in a thoughtful manner.), novelty beads (this picture).
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG.
Summary: Ivy realizes something.
Warnings: None.
Notes: The supplies seemed to call for a space AU piece. I feel I should note that Ivy and Gina aren't together at this point.

Ivy isn't sure she can handle this.

There's the observation deck, so dark it seems an extension of the endless night outside. There's the nebula, billowing dust a fuzzy aura over pinprick stars. There's music, electric, metallic, if only you were mine, dear.

And there's Gina, spun-gold hair shading silver in the starlight.

Something is changing. Something has changed. Her skin feels too tight, her heart soft and sore. It feels like her whole life has led up to now, to stars and music and Gina's so-soft mouth.

When did she start needing this?

When did she start needing Gina?

What song is that from I need to know, because it seems so lovely, just from that one line.

Also, I still envy your ability to make imagery just in miniature. ARGH.

ODD COMPARISON TIME.

This piece reminded me of one of my favorite colors of beads (Miyuki gold-lustered violet).

It also reminded me of whipped cream.

And the covers of the back issues of Analog I used to build forts out of.

In short.

THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME.
