She likes to watch the sky with him. She makes sweet juice--lemon, water and honey, condensation sliding down the dented tin pitcher. He sometimes adds mint leaves. The contrast is growing on her.
He tastes of it--sharp, sticky-sweet--when he kisses her the first time--short, soft, mouth closed. He backs away, suddenly shy, surprised by his own daring. She feels his heart thrumming, and pulls him back for another kiss.
They lie on the grass, watching the sun move sedately across the sky, hearts outpacing it, hands entwined, tasting each other and lemon and honey and mint.
