Omar is like a flame, bright and living, flickering from thought to thought and deed to deed. He could also, less charitably, be compared to a demented cricket, but Aaron loves him too much for that, even if he spends a lot of time being bewildered.

But times like this, when the sun and the summer breeze have lured Omar to sleep, Aaron loves him the most. When he's still, his breath puffing across Aaron's collarbone, his fingers twitching occasionally against Aaron's stomach. When the lawn chair creaks beneath their weight, and all Aaron has to do is love him.
