Purple 9, Orange 6, Lawn Green 9: Green
Author: Kat
Title: Green
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Purple 9 (harold and the purple crayon), orange 6 (california oranges), lawn green 9 (vacation),
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, frame, oils (manna from heaven), modeling clay (youth), glitter (brilliant), novelty beads (this picture), pastels (traditions).
Word Count: 100
Rating: G.
Summary: Ivy and family on vacation.
Warnings: none
Notes: I'm trying to capture a feeling here; let's see if it worked. Last purple.
Their hotel is on the side of a neon-green valley, the ground sloping away to turquoise water. Before her honeymoon Ivy didn't really believe places like this existed; now they come here every year.
It's good for the children. Leah lies on her belly on their balcony, drawing pictures in crayon. Andy teaches himself to juggle oranges. They spin in circles, play tag, collapse exhausted into bed and wake up laughing to do it all again.
And Gina lies in the sun, skin warm and honey-gold, her smile more beautiful even than the valley.
Thank God for places like this.
