Addictions: Canvas, Brush, Mini Collection, Faded Blue
Name: Nichole
Story: Addictions
Piece Title: Peake
Colors: Faded Blue: 6. But don’t you change one hair for me
Supplies and Materials: canvas, brush (wiseacre), miniature collection
Word Count: 300
Rating: PG
Warnings: veiled drug use; if you notice other triggers - let me know
Summary: A look at Peake's relationships with Danny, Laurence, and Laura
Note: Comments are more than welcome.
I.
Peake was young, impulsive, and terribly addicted; three things that made being in the support group difficult. There were times when he showed up to Alexander’s Books less than straight, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t trying.
Unfortunately the others didn’t see it that way; especially Danny. Whenever Peake showed up to a meeting high, Danny would simply take Peake back to Peake’s apartment and handcuff the younger man to a chair. Usually, Danny would stuff the chair into Peake’s closet and leave the drug addict there for the evening.
Peake would always come sober (for a while) after that.
II.
They both smoked. Laurence said it was because addicts always found replacement addictions. Peake blamed it on Joe Camel. Whatever their reasons, they both smoked cigarettes before and after support group. It was, for lack of a better term, their bonding time.
Peake and Laurence would share cigarettes while discussing their latest adventures in trying to stay away from their addictions. Laurence would often tell Peake he should think about getting his GED; Peake would often tell Laurence he should think about fucking off. Laurence would respond with a wisecrack and Peake would bum another cigarette. It was their way.
III.
Laura fascinated Peake, if only because she never said anything about her addiction. Danny was the walking cliché of the alcoholic detective, Laurence was the gambling math teacher, and Phobia was just there. But Laura? There were way too many rumors (mostly made up by Peake) and way too few facts. Peake figured it was sex addiction, but he wasn’t sure.
After a while it turned into a bit of a game. Peake would randomly shout out an addiction, just to see if Laura reacted; she never did. She’d just smile and ruffle his hair.
Laura was winning the game.

Was my favorite part. It's just so scenic, and yet so real.
Is Peake blond? That's what I pictured for some reason. A wiry, blond rapscallion in a denim jacket.
Thank you very much for posting.
And- serious question -if we're friendly like we are here in the comments, why aren't you on my access list? It's getting to be like- whoa. Something didn't happen here XD.

Thank you so much for always reviewing.
I have no idea why I'm not on your access list. I think I just keep forgetting that DW has that. I've subscribed to your journal and granted you access to mine. :)

Blue hair! Ohnoes, my weakness.
Does Peake accept snorfs from random passersby?
*snorf*
As for that other thing- fixed! YAY.
I've got a couple fic meme posts floating around, so if you want something feel free use them regardless of relative age. Or hell, just ask. I'm amenable to most anything that isn't Roa X Siebenkas (nothing person, but that pairing makes me wince; wince of god?).

He'll pretend he doesn't like snorfs (or teenage Catholic schoolgirls, but he's lying). He like snorfs and Grace is his best friend.
Now we have access and we can interact outside of comments! I post a bit about Surely Someday, so you may get some sneak peeks.
I'm not comfortable writing overs characters. But, I do love making vids. Maybe one day I can make a trailer for one of your characters? Or a crossover trailer?
(nothing person, but that pairing makes me wince; wince of god?)
wince of god noted.
I think every author has pairings that make them wince. 'Ship what you want, audience. But know that some authors silently judge you.

SNEAK PEEKS.
Sneak Peakes?
Bad puns!
Actually, all of the memes I have up are [person asks] > [I do the writing]; some of the posts in question have been around a good while. What I meant was- if you want me to write something for you, I would do it! Or at least put it on the list. I ended up having to outline some of the requests (moving bodies *shakes fist*), which made them take longer. Goodness, I'm not going to pressure anybody into fanficcing for JoR. First of all, most of the backstories exist only on cocktail napkins...
You're sweet to offer a trailer after that implication though ^_^.

Bad puns!
Love it!
Those memes sound really fun. I may have to pay a visit to that list and see what's up. Maybe even start my own.
If you ever want a trailer, let me know. I will do it.
