Notes: The Beatua is the head of the Passian Church. Prince Andre is Henri's younger brother. Jean Luc is Anna's older brother by four years. Oh and it's been forever since I posted, but I hope to change that now that a new month is upon us. :)

“I must have her!” Henri yelled.

His brother, Prince Andre looked at his brother worriedly.

“If the Beatua refused to grant you a divorce, I don’t see how you’ll be able to marry her, brother.”

Henri growled and sat down on the throne.

“There may be a way,” Jean Luc said coming up to the King.

Henri looked up at Jean Luc.

“What?”

“The law says the monarch must have the permission of the Head of the Church to marry. But you are the king and you have the power to change the law.”

“I don’t think that’s wise,” Andre said coming to stand next to Jean Luc. “It could have repercussions.”

“No, he’s right. I see now. If we have someone submit the bill before the councilors and ten of them agree upon it, I can sign into law,” Henri said with a maddening gleam in his eye.

Andre glanced at Jean Luc. Jean Luc smiled triumphantly at the prince.

“But do you think that many councilors would accept the bill. The Lady Anna does have her enemies.”

Henri looked up at his brother.

“My sister has her allies as well. My father and I sit upon the council as well as my brother. That’s three. Plus my father is very powerful, I’m sure he can persuade some of the councilors.”

Andre sighed. Henri stood up and hugged Jean Luc.

“Your sister is lucky to have such an intelligent person to give her advice. You will propose the bill soon yes?”

Jean Luc nodded. Henri smiled.

“I am going to see Anna and tell her of this news. But you gentlemen tell no one else. We must proceed in secret. If my wife is able to gather her supporters they may join forces and shoot down the bill.”

“I won’t say a word to anyone save my father, Your Majesty.”

“Andre?” Henri asked his brother.

Andre ran his hand through his brown hair. He sighed and nodded. Henri laughed and hugged his brother.

“Until tomorrow gentlemen,” Henri said leaving the chamber.

Andre turned to Jean Luc. “I hope you know what you’re doing.”

Jean Luc smiled “I do, Your Highness. Trust me, I do.”

Oh, yeah. This will not end well. Nice going, Jean Luc.

This is what happens when the king surrounds himself with people like Jean Luc. :(
