Summary: Claire is so happy Axel is alright.
Warnings: none
Notes: I wanted to do something nice for Claire since in canon things don't go her way. I wanted to do the same thing for Seth too since I felt they needed some happiness. My name for the AU is creative. XD I couldn't think of anything else. Well enjoy!
Claire picked Seth up and jogged to Axel’s hospital room. She teleported to the hospital the moment she received the text from Artemis that Axel made it. Claire’s heart raced in her chest when she stopped in front of his hospital room. She took a breath and opened the door.
“Hi honey, hi little man!”
“DADDY!” Seth yelled and scrambled out of Claire’s arms. Claire watched as Seth made a beeline towards Axel. Claire looked at the bandages around his head, his arms, legs, and torso. There was a good chance he had more injuries, but they could discuss it later. Axel was alive and that was important.
Claire jogged over and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed kisses against Axel’s face as Seth squeezed his arm.
“I’m fine guys. Don’t worry.” Axel laughed.
“I’m so happy you’re alright! I can’t believe you would do something like that! I’m glad Bernard caught wind of your little plan before you left.” Claire said.
“I guess I should have told him, but I didn’t think he would be there so fast.” Axel smiled sheepishly.
“He was there because he cared, we all do. Please never do something like that again.” Claire whispered as she looked at the bandages on his chest.
Axel placed a finger under Claire’s chin. He tipped her head up and looked in her eyes. “I won’t don’t worry.”
Claire smiled and kissed him. She smiled when Axel pulled her closer.
“Eww!” Seth exclaimed and covered his eyes.
“It won’t be so nasty to you one day little man.” Axel said.
“Kissing is nasty! Eww!” Seth said and shook his head.
Axel laughed and nuzzled his cheek. “You’ll see.”
Seth laughed as Axel tickled him. Claire smiled and laid her head against his chest. The rhythmic beating of his heart put her at ease. Axel was alive, Cael was dead, and her family was back together. Claire sighed in relief and curled closer to Axel’s chest.
She could finally get some sleep.
