Dogwood Rose #5, Bone Black #15
Story: Breakup Letter
'Verse: Feredar
Colors: Dogwood Rose #5. yellow: jealousy, Bone Black #15. Funeral
Supplies and Materials: miniature collection, pastels (my current gen+romance card O3 "starting over"), frame (991 FY), beading wire, glitter (sacrifice)
Word Count: 123
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Lonura
Warnings: None
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
It
feels like
the world is
ending. All she can
do is stare, stare at the letter,
feeling her hopes die, one by one, her future is in
pieces, everything she's hoped for,
everything she's won
will be for
someone
else.
Why?
All she
can do is
ask herself why it
had to end like this, a letter
from practically the other side of the world, to say
"I'm getting married," and say "I'm
sorry," and after
five years, no
more, no
tact,
no
grief, that
this must end.
None, at least, that she
can see, reading between the lines
as best she can. But maybe it'll be different, when
face-to-face, if she gets a real
explanation, the
reason, a
real good-
bye.

YOU CAN'T TEXT-MESSAGE BREAKUP. JEEZ.
Man, poor Lonura. I do hope she gets that explanation.

...well, what Nolani's letter actually said was, quite literally, "I'm getting married, I'm sorry. We'll talk more the next time I see you." Which Lonura took to mean "I'm breaking up with you," which isn't actually what Nolani meant, but...yeah. Communication! Such a vital skill!
