Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Well, this turned out hella weird.
Study the room.
Ignore the lingering stench of blood and flesh-smoke
The chilly little crunches at every footstep--
Shards.
Study the patterns,
The pools where she stabbed him,
And where the makeshift daggers from the shattered furniture
Cut her hands.
Study the air.
Breathe it in--the fact that it ended--
It ended so quickly
Too damn quickly
He tried to take something that was not his.
And there is no redress remaining--
No kin to break, no life to take.
Frustrating
Isn't it.
Infuriating.
Turn away--
Crunchclickcrunch--
Go to where
The children are.
They will need repairs.
For what they saw and did
And what was done to them.
But they can be repaired,
And plans can be rewritten
Around the cracks that will remain.
The sickly sweet flesh-smoke
Etches visions of glory
In the patterns
And the shards.
Study the room
The patterns,
The air.
Vengeance--true vengeance--is another thing stolen, but
Victory is one step closer.
