Green 4, Eton Blue 20: Time to Fly
Author: Kat
Title: Time to Fly
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Green 4 (green eggs and ham), Eton blue 20 (graduation).
Supplies and Materials: Miniature, photography, frame, brush (fugacious: lasting a short time, evanescent), watercolors (a wagon, magic shoes, a toy camera), oils (crawling all over), stickers (locusts), chalk (Graduation Respite).
Word Count: 100.
Rating: G.
Summary: She blinked, and Thomas grew up.
Warnings: none.
Notes: I'm quite fond of the word "insouciant."
She blinked, and Thomas grew up.
It went so fast. Just a minute ago he was a baby, crawling into the oddest places, playing with his little wagon or toy camera, sitting on someone's lap while they read him Green Eggs and Ham. A few seconds ago he was eating everything in sight, claiming with a straight face that red sneakers were magic. Now he's standing in front of her, mortarboard tilted over one eye, grinning that insouciant grin of his.
He's amazing, her little boy, so handsome and strong; she's so proud of him she thinks she might cry.
