Chloe had stayed in the helm while the rest of her crew took over the merchant ship they had come across. Faith had popped down as soon as the ship had been spotted, asking if they could raid it, and Chloe was so sick of listening to her first mate whine about being bored that she had agreed. Faith had teased her about not going on deck for when they boarded the ship, but it wasn't that Chloe couldn't stomach blood like Faith had said. She didn't like it, but if she could stomach years of Daddy's horrible parties and party guests, she could handle a battle just fine, thank you very much. But it wasn't that important of a ship, nothing they had planned. Faith was a good first mate. She would make sure nothing went wrong, and she would have sent for Chloe if something did.
She looked up from her maps when there was a brisk, hard knock on the door before Faith violently opened it. "Found something for you, Captain," she grinned, and pushed someone into the room.
He stumbled, his hands tied up in front of him, and gave Faith what looked like a very exasperated glare over his shoulder. He looked like a sailor, tan and blonde from the sun, and Chloe smile broadly when he turned to look at her and she got a good look at him.
"Hi," she purred. Her smile widened as he paled in response. "What's your name?"
"Kurt," he answered lowly. Kurt sounded nervous. How adorable.
Chloe tossed her feet up onto her desk. She kept smiling at him. "Do you want to be a pirate, Kurt?"
"Seems like a better option than dying."
She laughed, delighted. "Wonderful. You're my new cabin boy." He looked flabbergasted. She leaned over to look around him at Faith. "Anything else useful on the ship?"
"Loads of supplies. Not many people leftover. Nobody important onboard," Faith reported.
"You're sure?" Chloe asked. She got an offended look in answer. "Fine. How's the condition of their ship?"
"Sailable, but we're better off."
"Of course we are. Daddy bought me a nice ship," Chloe sniffed. "Ask whoever is left if they want to join the crew. We can never have too many people on our side. Take everything else useful below deck, and tell Penn to get us out of here when you're done."
"What if they don't want to join?" Faith asked.
Chloe waved her hand, signaling that Faith could do whatever she wanted with them. "Just leave us for now."
Faith grinned widely, a dangerous gleam in her eye. "Aye aye, captain," she answered, and shut the door behind her when she left.
Chloe turned her smile back on Kurt, enjoying how he was looking at her. Like he didn't know if he loved her, or if he was terrified of her. "Now. Tell me about yourself."
