too many statues

Author: Chibi
Story: groff paperdemon moment
Color: spiderweb (dark hallway)
Styles and Supplies: palette knife, resin (the event ends when the boss' hp is 0), chiaroscuro, does this count for collage and/or gesso?
Summary: groff gets past a horde of statues
Prompt Reasoning: its in a dark hallway
Wordcount: 302

Batting the little piece of rock around brought Groff to a dark hallway filled with statues- too many statues. He couldn't possibly take them all on- could he?

Carefully, he watched as their swords all softly swung to and fro- how they bounced back upon each other's touches...

A mouse scampered, running between the statues, and Groff watched how they didn't react until a sword touched the creature, and suddenly, they were on it in an instant, before returning back to their position...

Could statues not see in the dark? They were human-shaped, after all...

If that's the case, then... covering himself with stone would work, right? They could mistake him for a statue...

Groff's latent element was Fire, not Earth, so he was a little unsteady with the latter, and not even sure how to cover himself with rocks, but...

... Cass had shown him something called a 'Coating', right? She had used it on herself, in her moth form to change from Electric typing to Air... maybe that could help?

Groff closed his eyes and thought about painting himself over with brown stone and rocks- well, he already was brown-furred, but... he thought about painting stone on his white arms, legs, and chest, and opened his eyes to see stone around his body.

Alright. Now... now he needed to walk down the hallway without the stone falling off.

One step, two step, three step...

He felt the swords touching him through the stone, but- they don't seem to have noticed that he wasn't one of them.

Four step, five step, six step...

Groff hoped that the children didn't end up here, in this hallway... that is, unless they found a way around it like he did.

Seven step, eight step, nine step...

And RUN!

He was out! Phew, that was terrifying...
