Ever since his son had died he had hidden in the shadows and prepared for a vengeance that would sweep over the world and leave it bare. He'd studied gates to other planes, fueled by rage and discontent. They'd had no right to hurt him so.
The dark ones required a sacrifice; he'd offered himself. In return, once they crossed at his passing, they would kill the ones he'd marked with his hate. There would be innocent lives lost, but he judged it worthwhile.
Breathing was becoming difficult... and yet he found himself at ease.
