Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always. Tsuna is Mariko's mother; this takes place at least a year before she meets Evan.
It may or may not have seemed like a good idea last night, but when Tsuna woke up next to her ex-boyfriend, it was all she could do not to audibly groan.
Yes, okay, the breakup had been mostly due to practical life changes--they were going to live in different cities--rather than any actual problems, and she had fond memories of him, and he'd been her first lover, back when they were teenagers. That counted for something.
But ending up here had not been part of the plan last night--a rare night off, meeting up with some old friends who happened to be in town; he'd been there, they'd ended up talking and drinking and nostalgic and she'd ended up here.
And, to top it all off, he wasn't any better in bed than he had been as an awkward, over-eager sixteen-year-old. Her dumb decision wasn't even worth it in the end.
She did vaguely remember that he was leaving town again in a couple days, at least, so hopefully it wouldn't be too awkward. She could dodge him easily enough for that long.
She held still for a moment, to be sure he was still asleep, then quietly extracted herself from his bed, scribbled a quick note because she didn't want to be a total bitch about it, and gathered her clothes for her walk of shame.
