There’s a man next to her at the bar, talking about spicy Latinas. Miranda meets Emily’s eyes across the room and gives her own a quick roll. Emily looks to God for patience.
“You’re way hotter than her,” spicy-Latina guy says.
Miranda can’t resist. “Than who?”
“That girl you’re eyeing,” he says, and nods towards Emily. “Asian chick? Lemme tell you, men like some meat on a girl’s bones.” If he’d grabbed her, she would have ripped his arm off. Fortunately for him, he keeps his hands to himself, but his eyes go to her tits.
“Oh?” She leans close, gives him a good look down her dress, and hisses, “That’s my best friend, bitch.”
Their drinks come, thank God. She plucks them off the bar, pivots, and gives him an angelic smile. He’s gone pale. As well he should.
“Okay, bye now,” she chirps, and heads back to Emily.
