'Verse: Lux
Colors: Halloween Orange #10. You can't unmake your own mistakes., Vert #16. As the lord/lady asks

Word Count: 239
Rating: R
Characters: Lux, Mariko
Warnings: Sex; discussion of the fire and its aftermath
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome, as always.
When Mariko kissed her, with weight and heat behind it for the first time since their reunion, Lux paused for a moment.
Before...before it had been a dream. It still was, in a way; her Mariko was only human, and so fragile in her hands. They only had a moment.
But there was something different about this. And she needed to be sure.
Marko smiled, pressed a hand to her chest, the intent and the invitation and the wanting clearer than it ever had been.
Lux nodded, understanding, and returned her kiss; she felt Mariko's delicate human fingers and then the cool circulated air brush against her skin as her shirt opened; a thrilling contrast to the heat building underneath.
She found Mariko's zipper and when she shivered but didn't ask her to stop, pulled her free of her dress.
And paused again, to memorize this moment. This gift.
Mariko was--so beautiful, in the flickering light of their cockpit.
And she wanted Lux again.
The marked moment passed, and Lux leaned to her, tracing one hand along her shoulder; the soft curve of her breast; feeling the texture of her scars and letting the guilt and the grief wash over her and then pass her by. At least for this moment. However long it might last.
She kissed her precious human once again, and let the rising tide of their reborn desire carry them both away.
