Color of the Day: Gimme More
Author: Kat
Title: Gimme More
Story: In the Heart
Colors: Color of the day (skedaddle)
Supplies and Materials: Canvas, graffiti (Gimme More, Britney Spears), pointillism
Word Count: 224
Rating: PG
Summary: Danny needs more.
Warning: underage sexual activity, drugs, and drinking
Notes: none
Danny is fourteen and grinding at a school dance, laughing when the chaperones separate her and her partner; she doesn’t care, why do they?
Danny is fifteen and a guy pretends to believe she’s eighteen, takes her out to his car and leaves blood and semen on her thighs; she almost wishes that he’d hurt her more.
Danny is sixteen and smoking weed, but Riker won’t give her anything harder and he won’t fuck her and it’s not enough, it’s not enough.
Danny is seventeen with a fake ID and a real driver’s license and a spot in the endless, empty plains where no one will bug her, the stars wheeling above her and the vodka burning down her throat and no way out.
Danny is eighteen and doesn’t think she’ll make it, because all the booze and drugs and fucks in the world can’t drown out the fact that her mother hates her and her father’s gone and her little brother can’t save her.
Danny is nineteen and the end is in sight, cause in one more year Michael’s of age and they can run together, and it’s so close she can almost taste it.
Danny is twenty and the breeze off the plains lifts her hair as the bus rumbles down the highway, every turn of the wheels saying free, free, free.
